Single mom, Marta Wood, created these incredible, effective and stylish products to help her family and friends. Marta originally designed TheraFleece to help her children stay safe and warm during Canadian winters. Then, thanks to an Oprah show Marta realized that her creations might help her father cope with the pain of Arthritis and Poor Circulation. Next, Marta modified one of her daughter’s winter accessories to help a friend with Asthma breath easier. Before long Marta’s hobby took on a life of its’ own and became a business. Marta began her business in February 2001 with hopes of helping others find relief from their pain. Today people from Africa to Alaska are finding comfort and relief from their Chronic Pain, Respiratory Illnesses, and the affects of Chemotherapy and Radiation thanks to Marta's creations.

Marta’s products have been viewed and tested by a multitude of Medical Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Massage Therapists and Chiropractors. During the developmental stages of her business Marta worked with the Canadian Paraplegic Association, the Asthma Society of Canada, the Lung Association of Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Arthritis Society of Canada, The University of Ottawa’s Medical School and Carleton University’s Director of Health Services. The universities and associations provided product testing, feedback and support. Through all of them Marta has learned why TheraFleece is so effective.

The first few years of businesses were a whirlwind of excitement. TheraFleece by WoodHoodz was accepted nationwide by medical professionals, end users, retailers and the media. Nov 30, 2002 the front page of the Ottawa Citizen's Business Section read “Marta’s Incredible Adventure”. In 2005, Marta appeared on Careers TV, Canada’s leading career show. Articles about TheraFleece by WoodHoodz have been published in numerous magazines including, Abilities, Total Access, Fifty Five Plus and Above & Beyond. Her products have appeared on CTV's Regional Contact, Breakfast at the New RO, the News at Six on the New RO, A-Channel Morning and The Ottawa Citizen's Business Television.

But, Marta’s favourite moment was when she was invited by Frances Furmankiewicz, Director of Business Development for The Ottawa Hospital to speak at the 2004 Canadian Hospital’s Business Development Directors Conference in Victoria, BC. Marta spoke about her partnership with the Ottawa Hospital and her dream to give back to the medical community. Frances also invited Marta to open TheraFleece Chronic Pain Relief Products in the lobby of the hospital's General Campus.

Today Marta is both super mom and business woman. Focusing her attention on her children and spending the bulk of her business hours working directly with the individual’s who need and use her products. Marta works one on one with her clients at The Ottawa Hospital to ensure that their concerns are heard and their specific needs are met.

The Better Business Bureau awarded Marta Honourable Mention in their 2004 Torch Awards for Business Ethics. Jeff Preston was National Director of Marketing for Shoppers Home Health Care when Marta began her business and the first to see the potential of TheraFleece.
